Like all outdoor items, shade sails can be subject to the elements. Regular cleaning and tightening of shade sails can help to preserve the sail and prolong it’s lifespan. Generally this can be done by you, and can be as simple as an annual rinse down of the sail, however we do offer a shade cleaning and tightening service if required. Building a shade sail is a relatively short process. Residential sails can range anywhere from 3 – 6 weeks from start to finish, depending on current workload and the nature of the work required. Commercial sails can range from 4 – 8 weeks from start to finish, depending again on the nature of the work required. We stay in touch with you every step of the way to give you a clear indication of where we are in the process and what step comes next.
Generally speaking, once a design is settled on and an order placed, we need to come out two more times – the first visit is to install any metal work such as wall plates or posts. It is during this visit that we take the final measurements to ensure a snug fit for your sail. We then allow for concrete to set while our sailmakers get to work. The second visit is to install the sail itself.
